Web Safety
The Internet is a fascinating place. We can use the Web to socialize, conduct research, shop, attend classes, watch movies, and so much more. Kids find the Internet alluring as well because of the plethora of opportunities it provides them to connect with others and make their own discoveries. In today's educational world it is imperative (and required to receive certain federal funds) that an Acceptable Use Policy is put in place to build a framework for a child's safety online (Roblyer & Doering, 2013).
While the Acceptable Use Policy is an important component of the 21st century classroom, an Acceptable Use Policy is often not enough to keep students safe online. Education, and reinforcement are often required throughout the school year in order to keep safety on students' minds (Roblyer & Doering, 2013).
To help with this process, I created a Tackk that can be embedded into a website, edmodo post, or even printed and put up on a classroom wall to help remind students about what they can do to be safe online.
I hope you find this useful.
